“ Hokkaido Ramen House is a top-class Japanese restaurant. I've spent 6 years of my life in Japan and another 15 years in Los Angeles, so I am ranking Hokkaido against the best of the best Japanese places I've ever eaten, and Hokkaido stacks up near the very top. The service is great, the decor is lovely, and the food is outstanding. This is one of the few Japanese restaurants I've been to outside of Japan (or California) that delivers an authentic taste and experience. I always judge a place by their Shoyu and Miso ramen bowls as these are the most traditional and common in Japan. The Shoyu at Hokkaido is nice and light, as it should be. The Miso at Hokkaido is rich and savory, as it should be. Hokkaido nails the essence of both of these dishes. My typical order: Eel Roll as a starter, Chicken Katsu as an appetizer, and a Shoyu, Miso, or Tonkotsu ramen bowl to round it all out. ”

“ Great atmosphere. Came to try the Ramen, was distracted by the sushi menu. Was not disappointed! Food was great. There was a little too much sauce on the tuna sashimi, but everything else was perfect. Service was outstanding. Well, looks like I have to come back now just to try the Ramen. ”

“ Our waiter was great! He was quick and got our order right! No mistakes!:) The restaurant is small and cute with a great aesthetic! The ramen was good, but it needs a little more work, it needs a little more color. For example, more toppings.... not extra toppings. Like add mushrooms, add narutomaki, or seaweed to brighten the dish. The meat needs to be thicker. The meat was thin and crispy similar to bacon. Noodles were perfect. The sushi was OUTSTANDING! The drink was down to earth amazing! My husband loved the spring rolls!Good job y'all, keep up the good work! ”

“ I give this place a 5 star rating starting off because of the service. I was pressed for time because I had a bus to catch and had to make a quick order. I asked them how long and they said that they would get it out for me very fast and even offered me a free drink! This goes to show you that quality service is so easy and takes a person and business a long way. When I come back to Greenville, I will surely be back! Now, to the food, I ordered Chicken Katsu and Egg Roll. The katsu was very crispy and the chicken was moist. I wouldn't order it by itself , but under the circumstances, I had to. The egg roll was great as well. It was very flavorful. Thank you!!! I wish I got the servers and hostess names before I left. Will be back! ”

“ Food: I've visited this restaurant a few times since it's opened and the food is great. I usually get an appetizer, ramen, and sushi to split with my fiancé and the price is very reasonable. All of the ramen bowls that I have tried have had great tasting broths and always come out fresh and hot. This trip I ended up ordering the tonkatsu shoyu and it has such a great creamy umami flavor to it. It's hard not to scarf it all down. Their cha shu is also delicious and tender with a good grilled flavor. I love their sushi. They have interesting flavor combos and plenty of rolls to choose from, especially on the specialty rolls menu. Service: the service is always good when I go. I'm seated quickly and the food comes out hot and within 30 minutes of ordering. The servers are always pleasant and friendly. Ambiance: Hokkaido is a great date night spot. It has a nice modern style interior design with plenty of seating in the restaurant. There is also a bar that you can sit at which sometimes will have faster seating. The restaurant is also great for families and groups. Absolutely love this place. ”

“ One of the newer noodle spots in Greenville, we had to check out Hokkaido the week of their grand opening. They were so good we've been back twice since. Food: The ramen is their premiere option with Tonkotsu, Shoyu, and a few others. I also haven't had a bad roll there with the pink panther being a popular. Service: The service is consistently good and the servers are very friendly. Not too long of a wait for our food even on their busiest nights. Ambiance: The ambiance is very calm and reserved. The team has built a nice aesthetic different from the other noodle houses in the area. ”
